One of our favorite K-pop soloists, IU (Lee Ji-eun), has released a music video for her latest song, “Celebrity.” In this performance, she wears a wide range of styles—from coffee shop casual to ballroom beauty. IU covers it all! There’s a reason she is a queen in the world of K-pop and we want to show you some of our favorite looks!
How cute is IU in this fit? Her striped balloon-sleeve, wool-blend sweater from Ganni is customized to a crop top. This fuzzy pink and black sweater is close-fitting around the neck and has ribbing at the cuffs and hem. Her high-waist, frayed, dark denim shorts are decorated with a silver chain and black belt. Unique tights with a black spiral thread add an interesting twist to an already patterned ensemble. This works well because it is subtle and does not overwhelm the eye when paired with a striped sweater. IU adds dainty silver earrings and rings. We love how she brought creativity to her casual look.
Though we don’t see the full look in the music video, we love this fit on IU. She wears a jeweled dress underneath a satin, gold-colored trench coat. This trench coat has a black collar and is thigh length. She accessorizes with a pair of sunglasses on top of her head. This ensemble is perfect for a day or night out in the city. To recreate this look, snag your trench coat and wear it unbuttoned over a silver/grey dress. Top it off with heels or boots and don’t forget your sunglasses!
Just like a fairytale princess, IU is simply magical in her pink tulle dress. She wears a dainty ring, which helps balance the bolder diamond jewelry. The eye-catching piece in this fit is IU’s crystal-embellished headband from Gucci. This crown has baguette-cut crystals and was crafted in Italy.
Just like IU, this look would be amazing to wear when hanging in a coffee shop or on a laid-back afternoon. Over a patterned red crochet dress, IU layers a U Neck Colorful Knit sweater from Diagonal. The frayed details and diagonal cut at the bottom provide a relaxed look. She adds a brown belt around her waist to give shape to her bodice. A great accessory from this look is IU’s Vivienne Westwood Elena Frame Recycled Tartan Purse. This purse has a detachable metal chain, shoulder strap, and clasp closure. We love how this classic pop of pattern can add interest. IU adds different length dainty necklaces and small earrings for jewelry.
IU stuns in these neutral tones. This dress is delicate, pleated, has scarf detail, and cuffed sleeves. Sometimes letting the dress speak for itself is important—notice the lack of jewelry. Revetir did such an excellent job on this detailed glossy, dress that jewelry becomes a fun option but by no means necessary!
In the perfect nighttime look, IU stuns in her monochromatic outfit. She wears a leather trench coat that ties at the waist, a cute leather hat, and leather heeled boots. She pairs matte black pants and a black turtleneck. Golden rimmed earrings bring a quick pop of metal to the look. IU wears this fit in a couple of scenes, and at one point wears Cartier’s trinity oversized cat-eye acetate sunglasses. This is an easy look to recreate and would look stunning on anyone!
We adore IU in this mini dress from Michael Kors. With a smocked neckline that descends into a flouncy skirt, we love that she added a thick black belt. The dress is silk-blend chiffon with gold and silver fil coupé stars that shine in the light. Her white gold earrings are from Bvlgari and are inspired by the 1970’s trend of the hexagonal pattern. The Roger Vivier RV Strass hairband has two lines of crystals and a velvet dressing.
This soft pink dress from Be Blumarine makes IU look even more angelic than she already does! The long-sleeved dress covered in shiny fringe is modified with the addition of a white gold belt. IU adds silver accents in her dainty earrings, necklace, and rings. Add some heels and you’re off to heaven!
IU not only changed up her styles, but also her appearance. We love that we get to see her in bangs in this music video. It paired perfectly with this outfit. The blue ruffled dress portrays a soft and sweet feel. The delicate floral patterns are met with a black ruffled vest. For jewelry, IU sports unique jeweled earrings with several teardrop dangles. A simple gold ring on her finger is subtle but adds to the fit.
